Control Levels
 
Our Program goes way beyond mainstream obedience training--"sit", "stay", "heel" and "come". An overall, obedient attitude can be developed. The positive effects of properly educating a dog and owner are endlessly rewarding to us at D.C.T.      
                   
      Puppy Class:      
    This class is a "kindergarten" and covers all aspects of puppy rearing, including mouthing and biting, jumping up, fear responses and basic obedience such as "sit" & "down" as well as Leash Training. This class is designed to meet the needs of young puppies and their families. It is a foundation for the Level 1 class. Puppies from ten (10) weeks to 4 1/2 months of age are admitted to this class with veterinary approval.

Level 1:
BASIC OBEDIENCE: This is THE beginner class. We offer this class to any family unit or individual that owns a dog or puppy that is four (4) months of age and up and has completed the full inoculation schedule recommended by your personal veterinarian. The five (5) week class trains you to be the trainer. Basic behavior observation skills as well as basic obedience techniques give you, the owner, secure knowledge and methods to work with your dog. This level encompasses the six verbal commands ("sit", "down", "stand", "stay", walking on leash, "come") and provides an education in communication between dog and owner.
 
Level 2:
ADVANCED OBEDIENCE: Six silent hand signals and six physical leash commands are added to the six verbal commands. The silent signals develop a more direct focus between the dog and the owner.
 
      Defensive Deterrent or Home Guardian Levels (Defensive Mode):        
 
Level 3:
AREA PROTECTION: An introductory suspicion and aggression course for the purpose of protecting the inside of premises.
Level 4:
GUARD ATTACK: A more progressive building of guard levels for protecting the outside perimeter of the yard, lot, compound, etc.
 
Level 5:
VEHICLE AGITATION PROTECTION: This level encompasses vehicle protection with open window recall for remaining in the car or truck in order to ward off vandals or thieves.
Offensive Family or Personal Bodyguard (Offensive Mode):    
   
Level 6:  
PERSONAL PROTECTION: An "On Guard" focus-on-alert whereby the dog watches or fires without breaking ground.
     
Level 7:
ATTACK-ON-COMMAND WITH RELEASE-ON-COMMAND: An offensive physical confrontation to a threat with close perimeter attack to subdue. The elevation of aggression is as needed
directed toward a specific threat.
 
Level 8:
PURSUIT-ASSUALT-ON-COMMAND: Long distance pursuit with the intention to stop or harness a fleeing felon.
On all phases of Offensive Modes, the dog is trained to bite if the situation necessitates. Upon elevation to higher levels of Offensive Attack, the prior Defensive Levels become offensive as well.
